Mandy the Hologirl (10/04/20)
Left Version:

Following a freak accident when she was 9 years old, Mandy lost her limbs and head. Back in the 2000's, she'd have surely been left to die, but now, mid-century, top-of-the-line technology can do wonders. Her skull was relocated inside her chest, replacing a lung, and she breathes and eats through holes on top of her torso which can be closed tight by new muscles. Thanks to biotechnology, a chip was connected to her brain which she can use to connect wirelessly to devices, enabling her to interact with the real world via smartphones, computers, etc.
Traditionally she would have been given a wheelchair with a mock robotic head, but she was lucky enough to test a new technology based on antigravity and holographics. They installed small devices on her shoulders and hips, plus one on top of her torso, enabling Antigravity Holographic Generators (AHOGE for short) to sync and levitate around those parts. The one on top has a camera, microphone and speakers, so can literally see, hear and speak like anyone else. The AHOGEs near her hips are home to an antigravity repulsive system that can lift up to 80kg (which is ok, since she barely weighs 20kg). The main use of those AHOGEs being the holographics they project, which sync with her mental actions: when she "speaks" through her speakers, the lips of her holographic head move accordingly, when she walks, her legs seem to walk the same way. It is purely cosmetic, but it helps Mandy avoid getting ogled at, without them, she'd be a ghostly floating torso.

While she can interact freely and easily with people and electronic devices, she does have a ghostly side: her limbs are just holograms, and as such, she cannot use them to touch or carry stuff. So she needs help getting dressed, or may need to ask a friend to retrieve something in her handbag. It’s kinda surprising at first but people get used to her not "doing" much. She also eats liquid food, so her diet consists of many shakes, you could say she's a fanatic of them. While she can’t really taste them, she does like the different consistencies that can go through her throat. And yes, she needs to be fed too, you should see the faces of the waiters when she asks for help in a café. In the end, Mandy is quite happy with her life: she can live with almost anyone else, if it's not for the few stares she gets and the occasions when she needs to ask for help. She loves that she has a face again, which took her months to choose the right holographic model for her. Psychologists told her not to change her face too much, as the psyche needs to adapt to self-representation. After being stuck for years as a torso, she does enjoy a lot of strolling and hiking. Especially as it's an effortless activity for her (AHOGE batteries last for about 3-4 days). She just got a secretariat degree, and is now working in a college.

Right Version:

Born in a world where magic exists but with advancements in technology, Mandy was an Elf Magus student at college, learning the old art of Magic Alchemy. While working on some formulas, she messed up bad, really bad. Suddenly, she was left blind, deaf and helpless, for what seemed like ages, nothing happened, up until she felt people touching her. It was much later when a telepath could "talk" to her, that she understood what happened: her limbs and head were magically erased from reality. Doctors and Magus’ looked at her case for months, but it seems there was no way back. In her misfortune, there was some good to come of it: it seemed that her body could now sustain by mana only, so she didn't need to worry about food or drinks. Still, as an Elf, she was to live for her remaining centuries as a headless, limbless torso, which isn't the best outcome in life.

Magic works with affinities, and sadly she didn't have the telepathy and telekinesis ones, which would have been very helpful in her current state, though luckily she could learn levitation. But thanks to advancements in technology, she could use Antigravity Holographic Generators (AHOGE for short) that could act as replacements for her missing parts: she could hear, speak and see through them, and they could also mimic normal actions, like walking, which isn’t as freaky compared to a floating torso. In the end, Mandy returned to college to keep studying magic, now mostly focusing on topics that could help research her special condition. Overall she has a normal life, thanks to both magic and technology.

I really like this girl! I might draw her again in the future!
Mostly I'm very into the idea that she can live pretty normally despite not being able to touch, hold or carry things. Also in my idea, she likes "disconnecting" from the real world from time to time, especially when she sleeps, by shutting down her AHOGEs. She loves it when she's just there, without any outside input to bother her.
As for sex, well, she's not shy either hahaha! She has a thing for being deepthroated, literally in her case. Also she likes to shut down her holographics when in bed. She says it's because she thinks she's cute as a torso only, but truth is that she does ahegao faces and she looks stupid if her lover reconnects her head at that moment. Expect her to pout for days after that!

Thanks @WinstonMP for spell checking
